Colville Place

Colville Place is a nine-room accommodation service that takes referrals for young people who are at risk of homelessness.

The young people are supported for up to twelve weeks to achieve their goals through wrap around services that support them to; stay engaged with education, re-engage with family, develop daily living skills, develop relationships and connect with people and supports that can assists them to achieve their goals.

Colville Place’s practices are based on the Foyer Federation approach which embraces the Advantaged Thinking model. Advantaged Thinking is a philosophy about using the advantages we possess as humans which includes our assets, talents, resources and abilities and using these to create the conditions for a society in which everyone can thrive.

The facility is named after the founder of Colony 47,  Jim Colville . Jim was a strong advocate for the needs of young people in the 70’s and 80’s as they sought recognition as a key group with needs in the community.
