Mara House Residential Response Worker

Shift Work – Evening Sleepover Role

Experienced youth worker required for Mara House, a young women’s transitional emergency accommodation service for young women aged 13 – 20 years. This role is on a part time basis with 14 – 21 hours a week.

The Residential Response Worker is responsible for:

  • Crisis intake and assessment
  • Managing housing dynamics and supporting residents in the absence of their Case Manager and the Residential Youth Worker

Previous experience in a residential service would be highly regarded. Suitable qualifications as detailed in the position description is also required.

Transition to Work – Youth Development Coach

Full Time Position

Colony 47 has been contracted by the Commonwealth Government to deliver a Transition to Work program (TTW) in Southern Tasmania until 2020. Transition to Work is a place where young Tasmanians aged 15–21 can work on landing a job, entering training or finishing Year 12. Transition to Work is located in Hobart, Glenorchy, Huonville, New Norfolk and Sorell, with outreach to all other areas of Southern Tasmania.

In this role, you will:

  • Support young people on their journey to employment by providing intensive, pre-employment support to improve their work readiness. You will also work with employers to recruit young people to meet their business needs.
  • Adhere to the TTW Operational Plan and associated policies, guidelines and practice guides, and support the development and delivery of professional learning programs for participants.
  • Run and facilitate workshops and individual and group coaching sessions.
  • Address participation issues as they arise, manage participant dynamics and complex needs.
  • Work with complementary service providers to keep participants focussed on their goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within Colony 47, and with a wide range of external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of excellence in service delivery.

Previous experience in employment services will be highly regarded. This role will be on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

Qualifications

Relevant degree with considerable experience; (highly regarded), or
Associate Diploma with considerable experience; or
Qualifications in more than one discipline; or
Less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level; or
Attainment of equivalent level of skills to undertake the range of activities required through previous appointments, service and/or study.

An employee without formal qualifications and/or training or equivalent skills may be required to undertake relevant study or training.
