Anti-Poverty Week Events 11-17 October 2015

Around the world more than a billion people are desperately poor, poverty and severe hardship affect more than a million Australians and right here in Tasmania we face our own unique issues of poverty and inequality.We can do better and we can do more. For that reason Colony 47 undertakes a range of activities during Anti-Poverty Week in order to;

􀁳 strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of
poverty and hardship;

􀁳 encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems,
including action by individuals, communities, organisations
and governments.

Last year, at least 600 organisations around Australia participated in more
than 400 activities during the Week, with a total participation of more than
10,000 people.
