Support Worker

Shift Work

Colony 47 has a position available in its Mara House Program.

Mara House provides supported, transitional accommodation to young women aged 13-18 years, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Support Workers operate within a case management framework supporting residents in developing and maintaining independent living skills, education and relationships.  

The successful applicant's will have the ability to as part of a team to provide assessment, support and referrals to young women. Previous experience in a residential service would be highly regarded?

Project Officer

Full time

Colony 47 has a Project Manager position available in its Emerging Indigenous Entrepreneurs Initiative (Alcohol and Drugs Strategy).  This position is initially for 6 months with a strong opportunity for further employment through to 2010.

 The position will be based in Hobart and focus on supporting the career pathways for participants of the alcohol and drug training program to be delivered by TAFE.

The successful candidate will work at the direction of the Project Management Board who will be comprised of key government departments and other identified representatives connected to the project.

We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated person who has:

experience in or a strong understanding of working with Aboriginal people in a drug and alcohol misuse capacity;

  • ability to project manage, including implementation, monitoring and reporting;
  • ability to work with a consultant appointed by TAFE to ensure that the alcohol  and drug training qualification is tailored to an Aboriginal cultural context; and
  • ability to network and form strong working partnerships.
