Our sentiment here lies within efforts made to source ethical commodities for use in the creation and function of the restaurant. A restored heritage-listed building is primarily clad with recycled, and reintegrated objects from tables and chairs, to light 

 

 

Machine Laundry Cafe- What could be better than being able to wash your clothes while you enjoy a coffe, breakfast, eat and drink. Machine Cafe offers this unique experiece and is open from 7.30am to 5pm in sunny Salamanca Place where there is always something happening so you can people watch as well! Top Nosh- Fancy an Olliebollen or two or perhaps sone Tempura Mushrooms, thenTop Nosh at Salamanca Market on a Saturday is the place you need to visit.

For those new to Olliebollen, these are Dutch Dough Balls (perhaps the precurser to donuts) enjoyed traditionally by the Dutch on New Year's Eve, but here in Hobart you can enjoy them all year.

Tempura mushrooms are a great treat for vegitarians or non vegitarians alike as they are lightly fried in a light batter. Bruny Island Berry Farm- A seasonal experience of mouthwatering berry related meals. This 'pick-your-own' berry farm is open for the summer fruit season but closes over the winter months. It provides the visitors with an dining experience that turns all the varieties of berries into delicious fare including berry flavoured ice creams, devonshire teas, and pancakes with a scoop of berry ice cream as well as great tea and coffee, and for the wine lover there is strawberry champagne. Pick up a berry related gift from the gift shop, or maybe some of the local wines

After picking as much fruit as they want, visitors can enjoy a barbecue or a picnic at the neaby tables or spend some time on the beach, perhaps sipping a coffee or slurping on a berry ice cream cone.

 

 

Piccolo

Located in the North Hobart Fine dining district, Piccolo appears to be a little slice of Italy. It has fine Sicilian inspired dishes sourced from local seasonal produce. Although the resturant is not large, the finely produced food and vast wine list certainly put it up there with may of the larger restaurants.
